It is TRIUMF's policy not to discriminate against the hiring of family members of TRIUMF employees.
Family members of TRIUMF employees applying for a new or vacant position with TRIUMF will be given the same consideration as all other applicants. The successful candidate will be the individual most qualified for the position, provided:
1) The family member will not be under the direct supervision of his/her relative, nor work in a department where a relative is a supervisor;
2) A TRIUMF employee (or member) holding a research grant is not using such funds to recruit his/her own family member.
In cases where there is indirect supervision of a family member, management will ensure that conflict of interest is avoided regarding performance evaluations and related personnel matters.
It is the responsibility of the Human Resource Manager to ensure that this policy is adhered to.
