The mission of the TRIUMF Office of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) is to provide TRIUMF management and staff with the tools and information to minimize the impact of TRIUMF operations on the environment, to ensure a healthy workforce and a safe workplace, so as to enable TRIUMF to maintain excellence in scientific research.
It is the responsibility of TRIUMF management to demonstrate by example TRIUMF's commitment to safety, and to support, develop, and require the leadership of supervisory staff in occupational health and safety matters.
It is the responsibility of all workers at TRIUMF to abide by all of the policies and procedures adopted by the TRIUMF management and to ensure personal and public safety. All workers shall practice safety in personal work habits and encourage the same among fellow workers. They shall initiate suggestions for new methods of improving safety, report hazardous conditions to their supervisors, group, or senior manager, and cooperate in the solution of safety problems in the workplace.
