2.6 Constructing the Cyclotron Building

April 1971: West end of the Main Accelerator Building. The main support columns for the roof and two 50-ton cranes are in place and some of the roof support has been completed.

In the centre can be seen the north wall of the cyclotron vault, stepped to support the three layers of roof beams. On the right is the south wall, partly hidden by the shaft for the Service Annex elevator.
