  • Call for Beam Requests -

Please see the attached memo from Gordon C. Ball, Science Division Head.

The Beam Requests application is now open - http://mis.triumf.ca/beam/request/

If you would like to have beam time on Schedule 117 please make a request, anything that is on Schedule 117 will need to have a beam request.

Please note that this is a new beam request application (therefore the link above is different from previous times). You will need to login with your Secure Access Admin ID (as always). However, only spokespersons for an experiment will be able to make beam requests. When you login to the website above you will see a list of the experiments you are the spokesperson for, please click on "place a new request" beside the experiment you would like to request beam for and follow the prompts. With this application you will be able to edit and delete your beam requests. If another spokesperson has already made the request you will be able to view, edit, and delete it, so please communicate with your fellow spokespersons.

Please also note that this is a new application and with all new things there will be some bugs, please report any problems to me and I will try to get them resolved as soon as possible. posted 2009-12-22

  • This is to inform you of a beam schedule change due to a vacuum leak in the M15 slit box that was discovered earlier this week. The implications of the leak repair for BL1A and BL2A are as follows:

According to our best estimates, we expect that BL1A will be fully operational and ready for users on Thursday April 16 at 8:30 AM.

Beam delivery to BL2A will be interrupted during the start up of BL1A, presently scheduled to start on Monday April 13 at 8:30 PM, and last for approximately 16 hours. Beam delivery to BL2A will resume on Tuesday at 8:30 PM for 12 hours with the option of delivering either 10Be or 11Be. This will be followed by regular maintenance which is already scheduled to begin Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM.

We regret this inconvenience and loss of productivity, but we want to assure you that this was deemed to be the best way to deal with the situation.

Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions. posted 2009-03-20
