The current TRIUMF artist-in-residence, David Harris, will discuss the relationship between science and art, consider their compatibility, and dissect their differences. He will talk about what it means to do research in an artistic context and what research questions are driving him at the moment. The presentation will include an early draft of his typology of science art, illustrated by a wide variety of pieces from around the world. He will also show pieces from his body of work in science art and reveal a new piece developed during his stay at TRIUMF.
