What: Emily Carr University & TRIUMF Art Exhibit
Dates: March 12 - April 2, 2012
Gallery open to all Science World visitors
Starting Tuesday, March 12, Science World is hosting a collection of art created from TRIUMF's Artist's in Residence program. Students from Emily Carr University of Art + Design are challenged to investigate and experiment with conceptual and material transformations that arise from being inspired, informed and mystified by science such as the physics phenomena. This was achieved through their visits to TRIUMF, their exposure to the complex visual nature of the scientific equipment in its experimental halls, and the wealth of physics knowledge that the staff provided.
These pieces will be displayed for the first time at Science World in the Telus World of Science and are hung around the premises, providing visitors of all ages an opportunity to contemplate science from an artistic perspective.
Works includes large displays inspired by the Fibonacci golden sprial geometry, paintings inspried by the M theory, and representations of information in translation.
