On December 27th, 2018, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada announced 103 new appointments to the Order of Canada, including the recognition of several distinguished individuals hailing from TRIUMF member universities.
Notably, TRIUMF’s Board of Management Chair Dr. Digvir Jayas was appointed Officer of the Order of Canada for his advancements to agricultural practices worldwide and for his promotion of academic and scientific research in Canada. Dr. Jayas serves as Vice-President (Research and International) at the University of Manitoba (one of TRIUMF’s member universities).
