Things are starting to settle down a bit. The cyclotron is delivering ~125 µA to BL1A, 9.8 µA to BL2A, and nA as needed to BL2C1 for PIF. This is expected to continue for the next few days. At ISAC, 47K is now being delivered to GRIFFIN on a discretionary basis. We’re still working out the remainder of the ISAC RIB schedule, but delivery to GRIFFIN will likely continue for the next few days as well. I’ll forward more information as it becomes available.
A bit of housekeeping:
- Next Tuesday’s day shift is scheduled as maintenance for an ISIS backplate change. This was discussed at Monday’s weekly Ops/performance meeting and it’s believed, based on source performance, that this won’t be needed. The time will be used for cyclotron beam development instead. If a problem does come up, the filament can still be changed that day or during the scheduled development shift the following week.
- The PIF activity scheduled for December 9–16 only involves BL1B at this point; BL2C will be used for isotope production at STF for that week as a result (unless something comes up).
Correction, 2014-12-03 11:15:
GRIFFIN is actually taking 46K. The plan is to switch to 47K at 08:00 tomorrow. The Beam Delivery group regrets the error.
