August 1970: Work begins on the Cyclotron Vault. A 2" thick concrete "skim coat" has been poured as an initial floor, and formwork is in place ready for pouring the concrete surround structure for the Vault floor.
The excavation in the lower left is for the future Proton Hall service tunnel.
