TRIUMF researchers with the ALPHA-g team, an international collaboration based at CERN, were involved in an experiment that CBC Radio's Quirks and Quarks show host, Bob McDonald, has deemed as the second most Significant Science Story of 2023 – the monumental confirmation that gravity does indeed have the same effect on antimatter, which “falls downward” just as ordinary matter does. Culminating years of hard work and ushering in a new era of antimatter research, this milestone measurement is no small matter.
