Yukiya Saito

Yukiya is a Ph.D. candidate in Physics at the University of British Columbia. His research interest lies at the intersection of experimental and computational nuclear astrophysics. He tries to better understand the properties of exotic nuclei in terms of the rapid neutron-capture process (r-process), using nucleosynthesis simulations and machine learning.

Outside of physics, he enjoys cooking, fishing, skiing, eating ramen, drinking beer and spoiling his cat April.

B.Sc., University of Tokyo, 2016

M.Sc, The University of British Columbia, 2018 (supervisors: Prof. Reiner Kruecken and Dr. Iris Dillmann)
